In anticipation of our PVC Formulation Europe event in September, we're excited to share thought leadership from our speakers. They dive into current and future market trends, along with the challenges and advancements shaping this burgeoning industry.
Alicia Barbas, Mechanical Recycling Researcher, AIMPLAS
Alicia is a chemical engineer with over seven years of professional experience in the plastic industry, specialized in formulation and extrusion. She is currently working as a researcher in the Mechanical Recycling department at AIMPLAS. Her work focuses on the conception and development of projects aimed at improving the recyclability of plastic materials, leading the research line dedicated to the recycling and valorisation of PVC.
We asked Alicia, "To what extent have sustainability and environmental concerns influenced industry practices in recent years? What changes are being made and what changes need to be made to address these challenges?"
Dr. Dieter Drohmann, CEO, Chemservice
Dieter holds a PhD in Geoscience and has more than 30 years’ experience in Regulatory Affairs, International Chemical Control Legislation and Advocacy work. In 2007 he founded the CHEMSERVICE group of companies, a rapidly growing regulatory affairs consulting business with offices in Europe, Americas and Asia, acting to for the chemical industry and their value chain as a technical consultant. CHEMSERVICE is a founding member of the Only Representative Organization (ORO), with Dieter being elected president. He has participated in several REACH implementation groups, chaired various chemical sector groups and was involved in cross-industrial panels related to chemicals in products and articles.
He provides insight into the emerging technologies or innovations in PVC formulation that have the potential to disrupt or improve the market.
Charlotte Röber, Managing Director, VinylPl
Charlotte has been working for the PVC industry for a decade, previously representing the interest of the PVC window profile industry towards policy-makers, standardization bodies and other sectors. She has been the manager of VinylPlus and ECVM since January 2024.
She provides insight into what emerging technologies/innovations in PVC formulation have the potential to disrupt or improve the market plus the key challenges the PVC industry is facing, besides legislation.
Ettore Nanni, CEO, Reagens Group
Ettore is the CEO and the main shareholder of the Reagens group, a worldwide producer of additives for PVC and other thermoplastics. Since 2007, Ettore has been Chairman of ESPA (European Stabiliser Producers Association) and a member of the VinylPlus Board, where he is actively contributing to its successful achievements. Since 2014, Ettore is also leading its Additives Task Force.
He provides insights into the effects of current and proposed legislation on the PVC market. He also provides a little preview of the subject of his presentation at the event.
